“Parasite” Wins 4 Awards At 92nd Academy Awards

Movie “Parasite” made new records by winning 4 awards at the 92nd academy awards, which was held in Los Angeles on February 9 (local time).

“Parasite” was nominated for Best Picture, Original Screenplay, Directing, Film Editing, Production Design, and International Feature Film. Out of 6 nominated awards, “Parasite” won Original Screenplay, International Feature Film, Directing, and Best Picture awards. The movie also became the first non-English language film to win Best Picture.

Director Bong Joon Ho is also the second Asian filmmaker to win the Directing award following Ang Lee.

“Parasite” is the first ever Korean movie to win awards at the Academy awards, and also the first movie to win Best Picture and International Feature Film together. Also, “Parasite” is first Asian-language movie to win Original Screenplay, and 6th non-English language movie to win the award.
