BTS’ recently released “Dynamite” has made a new achievement.
On August 31, Billboard announced that BTS‘ “Dynamite” has ranked No. 1 on Hot 100 list. This makes BTS the first South Korean group to achieve the highest peak in the Billboard chart.
The Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the US combining all genres streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. According to the Nielsen Music/MRC Data, “Dynamite” surpassed 33.9 million US streams, and 300,000 sold in its first week. The song also achieved 11.6 million radio airplay in the week ending on August 30.
Other Korean artist to enter the top 10 on the Hot 100 lists is PSY with his “Gangnam Style,” which ranked No. 2 in 2012. Previously, BTS ranked No. 4 with “ON” in March which was the highest ranking for an korean group at the time.
